Including; interior design, investment project development, house flipping, home renovation & construction, painting & finishing, project management, furniture & landscape design and more. With all these areas of experience, she is able to bring together innovative, creative and cost cutting solutions to home renovation and house flipping.
As an experienced contractor and residential designer, she prides herself on high quality craftsmanship, functionality and flow. All while focusing on creating spaces that can make anyone feel at home.​ She can see all the possibilities of what construction can do, while balancing it with the limitations of the materials. Her designs both bolster local flavor, invest in Detroit jobs, and provide longstanding rental income & value for investors and home owners. Focused on balancing the use of light, quality materials, natural elements, and overall cohesion in her designs, MJ focuses on making spaces feel inviting and welcoming. ​
By living and working in the city for over a decade, MJ has fallen in love with the roots and local inspiration.With a deep commitment to environmental responsibility, MJ ensures that each design reflects the beauty of nature and the essence of sustainable living within urban areas of Detroit. One of her focuses is on the idea of re-wilding the city. This concept is seen on the exterior and interior of her properties and means she utilizes local landscape to create spaces that flourish independent of additional resources. This helps to cut down on waste of water, as well as bring back natural foliage to areas that are currently an urban desserts. Bringing both oxygen and beauty back to the city is vital for all of our health, especially in our homes. This also creates longstanding investment through sustainable foliage use because it doesn't require expensive landscaping maintenance.

Local Inspiration
MJ loves to be out and about in the city. She loves all the local shops where you can find that one perfect piece you can only find in Detroit. From the local tile artisans like Pewabic and Motawi Tile on Ann Arbor, she loves to support local artisans in her designs.
You can often find MJ at the DIA, local cafes, restaurants or even Belle Isle. She likes to experience the city while incubating her ideas. With a focus on natural elements, she often uses the local nature to influence the landscaping & overall design. As a regular of Belle Isle, she also brings the local natural elements into her designs.
Quality Design
Once an idea is formed and inspiration is determined, MJ goes to work hand choosing color pallets, collecting local materials, selecting artisans, to create her projects. She then renders drawings and visualizations to show her ideas. Each project will include both local inspiration as well as architectural styles popularized in the Detroit area such as MCM, Detroit Deco, Craftsman and more. You will recognize nods and reinventions to these styles all dependent on the project itself and specific real estate potential.
Creative Innovation
Finding real estate that may not be a typical investors first pick, MJ is able to convert run down homes in the right areas - into local gems. She utilizes all of her creative outlets to save investors money, freeing up more in areas that will be able to increase rental potential. She focuses on creating value added projects to the properties that create longevity in the renovation. Focusing on unique artistic installations, MJ loves to include light and structural architectural features that make homes have character and uniqueness.
